Being on the other side of the World, in a "woman" area :), having seen reaction of my ladies receiving your letters, I have something to tell you in this regard. What type of a first letter is more welcome? Why do you receive refusals sometimes? Why some of your letters are not answered? How to make a lady really interested?? Don't read further if you know answers :) For those who are still interested to get answers, here are a few advices.
1. DO NOT write letters like this (my lady kf5553 received it recently):
hi,all i know is that you are very beautiful.i like your words.please write to me .ciao bella.joie
Ladies feel nothing except disappointment getting this sample of epistolary genre :)
2. Size. Your first letter doesn't have to be too long, but also it doesn't have to be so short that she knows same nothing about you after reading a letter as she knew before receiving it! One page or around of this size is perfect!
3. Context. Start with at least a couple compliments about a lady's smile or beautiful eyes, etc.
Introduce yourself in a polite manner: a short info about who you are, where you live, age (this is a first things ladies want to know :), Your height (also is important for many ladies), your education and profession, tell about the place you live. Is it a town, city or a village? If it is a small town, don't forget to mention how long it takes to get to the closest big city. Most girl cannot imaging themselves living far from the city busy life! Tell about your interests and what is your view of your future family. If you would like your wife to work?
IMPORTANT: ask as many questions as you can.
4. Send a nice photo or two: one as a portrait and another in a full stature. Make sure your eyes are visible well! Don't send photos in shorts or especially in the underwear! It makes a very poor impression on our women. I don't mean that you must wear a tuxedo :)) Just normal clothes. It is very important what man wears for some of our women! They sometimes make conclusions based on what you are clothed at :)!
