I'd like to describe briefly the points that you will go through when bringing your Russian/Ukraine fiancee to your country. If you are new in this search this info can be informative for you!
There is an offices in each Western country that process entering visas. The best way to get your fiancee to your country for a rather long period of time (3 months for USA, 6 months for UK, etc.) is to apply for fiancee visa. USA citizen: DO NOT trust those who promise you to obtain a tourist visa for your girls frind! It is a scam and you are going to lose lots of money and get your heart broken. Only fiancee visa can be for real. Let me explain the process for the USA as a sample as the process in other countries is similar!
1. You can apply for fiancee visa ONLY after a personal meeting with a lady that you would like to bring to your country. So, plan your visit her first!
2. Take photos of you and her together when you come for a visit! It will help you later!
3. There is no obligations for you and her if you apply for Fiancee visa! You do not HAVE TO marry her! You just get a chance to live together or 3 months and to make a final decision. If you think that she is NOT what you expected her to be, she'll leave the country before 3 months expires.
4. So, you think that it is worthy to try the further move and to bring her for 3 months to your country. Contact YOUR I.N.S. office. There are 4 INS service centers in the USA. You can see which one is yours at:

5. Get all required apers together and submit the package to your I.N.S. service center. It takes from 30 to 180 days to get your petition APPROVED. It depends only of the office that you belong to:
Lincoln, Nebraska - 150-180 days
Mesquite, Texas (it takes about 70-90 days here)
St. Albans, Vermont (30 days here)
California (70-90 days)
6. After your petition is approved the package goes to American Embassy in Moscow or Kiev (since June, 2nd. Before American Embassy in Warsaw processed the further moves).
7. The Embassy sets the date of the interview and it takes place about in a month or a month and a half after getting approved!
So, as you can count, you can get your lady to USA 3 months after sending papers to the I.N.S. (the earliest). If you are not lucky to belong to St. Albans, Vermont office it may take up to 7 months...
THat's why6 I always advice my client who plan their visits: Take the form G-325 (the only one form of the package that must be singed with a lady applicant) even if you go for the very first meeting. Meet with her and if relationship work let her sign this form when you are still in Ukraine! It will save you a month at least or considerate amount of money that you would spend for FedEx sending her this form and then getting it back signed. Again: there NO obligation, just a common sense!!!
